The Dybbuk Box
The Dybbuk Box is a wine cabinet thought to be haunted by a Dybbuk; a restless, usually malicious spirit who is believed to be able to haunt and even possess the living. The box gained popularity when it was auctioned on eBay by Kevin Mannis. He was not only selling the box, he was selling what's inside of it as well.

According to Kevin, he bought the box at an estate sale in early 2000s. He was told that the box belonged to sales woman's grandmother Havela; a survivor of the Holocaust in German-occupied Poland. She escaped to Spain and bought the box there before immigrating to the United States. Kevin felt that it would not be right to buy off family heritage. However, the lady insisted telling him they do not want it anymore. She even told him the box is possessed by a restless spirit; Dybbuk. Kevin decided to buy it anyways.
As he brought the box home, Kevin decided to open the box. Inside he found two 1920's pennies, a lock of blonde hair bound with a cord, a lock of black/brown hair bound by a cord, a small statue engraved with the Hebrew word "Shalom", a golden wine goblet, one dried rose bud and a single candle holder with hour octopus-shaped legs. Since that day forward, Kevin had experienced several strange experiences. He had suffered severe horrific nightmares with an old hag being a predominant character in most of them. He had also experienced unexplained smell of urine and jasmine flowers. Furthermore, on the day when he gave the box as a birthday gift to his mother, she suffered a stroke. Allegedly, while in the hospital, his mother spelled out "H-A-T-E G-I-F-T" as she started crying.
Kevin decided to get rid of the box, however, people would always return it to him within a few days. At this point, he had started seeing shadows around his house and knew he had to get rid of the box quickly. As it goes in modern day, he auctioned it on internet along side with a story of everything that has been going on hoping some haunted items collector would buy it off him.
The box was finally bought by Jason Haxton, a curator of the medical museum in Missouri. Later on, Haxton wrote a book detailing strange phenomenon occurring around the box; from strange health problems, coughing up blood, nightmares, the hag, shadows and the smell. His book was actually the original inspiration for the 2012 movie The Possession.
