In 1972, artist Bill Stoneham painted a picture named "The Hands Resist Him". It was a painting of a young boy and female doll standing in front of a glass door against which many hands are pressed. Actor John Marley was the first person who purchased the now infamous painting. The second owners were a Californian couple who in the year 2000 posted a painting on eBay for sale. Their post quickly gained unusual popularity. Why? Well, due to the couple's claims that the painting is actually haunted. The Dybbuk Box is a wine cabinet thought to be haunted by a Dybbuk; a restless, usually malicious spirit who is believed to be able to haunt and even possess the living. The box gained popularity when it was auctioned on eBay by Kevin Mannis. Haunted dolls are one of the most famous objects associated with paranormal. My guess is, they probably hold the second spot, right after haunted houses. There is something eerie about dolls in general; add paranormal mix and you have got a recipe for nightmare. Back in 2010, Bulgarian phone company Mobitel suspended a phone number 0888 888 888 without stating why they made that decision. Quickly afterwards, possible reason for the suspension of the number emerged. Back in 1991, creepy looking doll by the name of Mandy was donated to the Quesnel Museum in Canada. Soon after, the museum staff started experiencing series of unexplained events; mysterious footsteps were heard when no one was around; items would go missing; electronics would malfunction; staff’s launches would disappear and would later be found in a drawer and many more. There is something about mirrors that just makes them great candidates for a haunted object. Hollywood recognized this. There is always that one scene when the ghost appears in the mirror.
